I've been waiting to wear this dress because a. I couldn't find it for like six months and b. it was quite warm outside once I found it and I couldn't bring myself to wear it. I love it, don't get me wrong. It's just a bit much for everyday wear. I wish I could remember more about it. I want to guess that it came from Circle Thrift, maybe before they moved. I don't know. I wore it once before the the 700 Awards. Even though I only left the house once to go to the grocery store I wore it all day. Sometimes it's fun to be dressed up at home.
I spent my day a little hungover from Saturday night's fun. I got up pretty late and decided sandwiches were in order. I put on this dress and walked to the corner store only to find them closed so I hopped in the car and headed to the Thriftway, our crazy people grocery store. It's such a place to be seen. As usual I encountered someone awesome, an old man, I'd say in his eighties who flirted with me and told me tales of World War II and discovering he had a child in Germany. It was all a bit of a blur of conversation in front of the jelly section. He was quick and cute and to the point and didn't seem crazy at all, maybe a little lonely. He didn't overstay his welcome, just got in and got out so he left me with a smile. I came home and immediately told Michael the whole story.
I made us sandwiches and I must say they were perfection. I savored every bite and then savored every moment of couch suck. We cleared out a large of chunk of our dvr and in between Michael worked on our bedroom floor using tung oil and citurs solvent. Our whole house smells like orange oil. I baked cupcakes and the chocolate scents mixed with the orange, much better than polyurethane any day.
I made us a late dinner of veggie chicken in a white wine lemon butter sauce, a saute of mushrooms, walnuts and kale, mashed potatoes and corn on the cob. Swoon.
