Day:

Today's dress is absolutely awesome in my opinion because it has a tiger print.  How many things do you own with a tiger print? Hmmm. No seriously if you do I want to see them, they rule.  I had no idea that this dress is sort of a famousy vintage designer until I met my friend Katy at my 30th birthday party.  She was wearing a sailor themed dress with a similar cut and pattern style.  After we struck up a conversation I told her about my tiger dress and she told me it must be The Vested Gentress.  I was all "huh?" and she explained more to my clueless and slightly drunken mind.   The next day I checked the tag and voila, it was indeed The Vested Gentress.  A quick ebay search and I realized that this designer is quite possibly the best kooky print designer ever.  I think  I bought this dress for super cheap as a goof because well, I think it's pretty clear why.   It is definitely one of my antiques roadshow moment dresses.  It's not the most flattering cut so I added the green belt that matches the tigers and then the green shoes to match that too.  The tights are some weird color and pattern but they were the first ones I pulled out of the drawer so they won.

It was raining today so I drove Michael to work, which was a good thing because it got my lazy bones out of bed. I honestly can't remember what I did with the rest of my morning besides dishes and squirrel and cat feeding.  I am so going to tackle time management this year.  I worked and dragged my butt to the gym.  Since I started at the beginning of a Cold Case episode I did an hour on the elliptical machine.  Aaahhh television.  I came home and Michael and I met up with Kristin to go see our friend Jody in the play The Good Puppet of Szechwan. It made me feel all cultured to go see a play and I got to support my neighborhood and friend.  It was the first time I got to see Jody act on stage and you could tell she was into it and pretty natural at it.  Since it was all puppetry it took me a little while to get used to looking at the puppets and not the people.  I still don't know who I should have kept my focus on.  It took me a few minutes to get into it and start following the story properly but once I did it was really good.   I didn't realize how small the theater actually is so if I see another show there I will make sure to get there earlier and snag a good seat.  As it was we got stuck next to a weird hipster girl who fell asleep and didn't hear the cell phone going off in the bag her friend had left behind when she left for a closer seat.  Wow.  Sometimes people are amazing.

After the show we came home and I made us dinner because we were starving.  We had leftover soup paired with boursin and sharp cheddar panini and watched Dexter and then Michael fell asleep on me and I indulged in my new obsession, three more episodes of the current season of Top Chef.  It is so sad when I get wrapped up in television and neglect my life.  Oh well, at least I got out of the house and got some culture tonight and rocked a tiger print while doing it.
