So it's Monday and that usually means suckage but today turned out to be pretty awesome.  I slept in, woke up and had coffee and talked with our friend and contractor while he was painting.  I then became privy to the opening of our bathroom paint (pictured above in the background).  I am so in love with the color!!! I was feeling shades of blue in anticipation of the unveiling so I dressed in it to celebrate.  This was purchased in the pajama section of Conway and therefore cost me a whopping $3.99. Splendid.  I got this cardigan on clearance at Target.  I'm in love with these colors.  After the paint happy I headed out to work and then to the gym followed by the grocery store for grilling items. I came home and unpacked and cleaned out the horridly full and partially rotting fridge.  Michael came home and we headed to Lowes and Home Depot for sink an toilet purchasing.  We were successful and purchased a "sterling" toilet by Kohler and "archer" sink by Kohler, names we found hilarious since we love the show Archer and the main character's name is Sterling Archer.  It was meant to be.   We came home and I grilled seitan, asparagus and zucchini and served it with a homemade truffled potato salad- so good! I just chopped and boiled potatoes, added hard boiled egg, onion and orange pepper (I was out of celery) then whipped together mayo, mustard, black truffle oil, salt and pepper and tossed the veggies with the dressing.  Mmmmm.  I was so good about my diet today until I stupidly indulged in hazelnut gelato.  I need to keep that shit out of my house, it's heaven in a pint container.  




Oh I almost forgot the good crazy squirrel lady news.   It turns out that I was wrong about the half tail squirrel, thinking he was Maalox.  I saw the real Maalox yesterday with a full tail.  I guess half tail also got an ear tear, which confused me.  I always assumed the half tail squirrel was Maalox because of the tear and that he had become skittish once he was attacked.  Since the real Maalox ran right up to me and hung out with me and did indeed have an ear tear I believe I was incorrect all winter.  Yeah Maalox! Way to totally outlive your city squirrel life expectancy and still look fabulous. I think we're between 3 and 4 years of squirrel friendship.  I like to call him my squirrelfriend.

Day: Today started out really lovely and then I went to leave the house to start working and found a dead squirrel right next to the driver's side door of the car.  Poor baby.  I bagged it and checked its ears to be sure it wasn't Maalox or Artemis.  No missing parts so it wasn't either of them but it could have been Steven Andrew Orsborn or one of the other two that recently started frequenting the yard.  So sad.  Michael asked if I wanted to get it stuffed.  It wasn't Maalox so the answer was no.  I think I'm going to get Maalox tattooed on my arm in the next year or so.  I've got some sweet inspirational photos for it. 

Today's dress is one of the products of me getting my iphone replaced this summer.  The ringer on/off switch on the side broke and the phone was stuck in the ringer off position.  That was a sucky couple of weeks.  In order to remedy the situation and use my intelligently purchased apple care I made way too many trips to the apple store in the Cherry Hill Mall.  I don't usually frequent malls so often since I live in the city but when I do you had better watch out.  I think I bought five or six dresses in those trips but Forever 21 is so cheap that I barely spent $50.  Today's dress is super easy and makes me feel happy.  Unfortunately I did not realize during the purchase process that the dress is dry clean only.  I laugh at dry clean only.  I think I've dry cleaned maybe three items in my lifetime.  I have also ruined a few.  I think I half ruined this dress as it did shrink a bit but oh well, it's still plenty wearable.  It was $13.50 and I refuse to spend almost the same amount to clean it. Dumb.  

Today's pictured puppies are my wiener dog clients Marley, Oscar, Toby and Nellie. They pretty much rule but maybe that's because I am predisposed to loving wiener dogs since I grew up with five of them.  Today's ring was purchased from my friend Sam's store The Point in Chadds Ford, PA It's really cute and you should check it out: olde ridge village 100 ridge rd suite #3 Chadds Ford, PA 19317  I wore it in homage to the dead squirrel.

Today was a pretty simple day.  I worked and went to the gym like a good little girl and then made Thai red curry smoked tofu and vegetables (green beans, cauliflower, pepper, onion, mushroom and artichokes) with jasmine rice and crescent rolls.  It was badass.  Michael and I ate dinner while watching episodes from It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia season one.  After dinner we met up with friends at the Cantina Dos Segundos because we heard there would be a mechanical bull there tonight and because we were celebrating the fact that our friend Becky, a city employee, got a reprieve from losing her job to Philadelphia's plan c.  I would never actually ride a mechanical bull as I am far too accident prone for such activities but watching would have been really fun.  Unfortunately it wasn't a bull but instead a horse with a bull that popped out from beneath it.   You could pay $3 to for three tries at lassoing the bull and you got a free can of Tecate just for trying.  The four girls we met there were all successful at lassoing but all the boys we watched failed miserably.  Funny.  After a few margaritas Michael and I headed home for the season premier of Always Sunny.  Good stuff.  

Tomorrow I am going to get my hair cut and colored.  My last hair excursion was over nine months ago.  Crazy.  My roots are really awful.  I have no idea what color or cut I'm getting yet so I will now go obsessively search the internet for inspirational photographs.  I am leaning towards a trim and a little bit lighter version of the blonde I have and fixing these terrible roots but I am also toying with the idea of bangs or red hair.  We shall see.  Yup.

Day: Today's dress is a win for me. I saw this same dress in a different fabric and pattern at Old Navy while shopping with Rica. It was $30 and I didn't really want to spend that much on a dress. Surely by now, day nine, you realize I am exceptionally cheap, or thrifty if you're being nice about it. About a month later I decided to check if the dress was on sale. Turns out it was and I also saw today's red cotton version of the dress. I scored two dresses for $32.99. Patience really is a virtue. I paired today's dress with one of my squirrel rings, this one a present from Rica from Art Star. It's the same style as the pirate ship ring but a bit more dainty. My blue nail polish is also still going strong.

I had some trouble with the pictures today too since I woke up with the beginnings of a giant shiny horrid chin pimple. I am trying desperately not to touch it. I decided to wear a bear mask for some of the photos but thought that wouldn't be totally fair so there are maskless photos as well. The background is my office area, where I write this blog every single day.

Today was one of those weird days where time seemed to fly by. We woke up at a pretty reasonable time and I spent way too many hours uploading old photos to Facebook. I got it in my head that I needed a folder of friend pictures so I started going through most of my 24,571 photos flagging good friend pictures. I probably still have a few thousand to go through but I gave up for now. I finally dragged myself out of my sweats and into a dress so I could go to aka with Steve so we could get tickets for forgetters at the barbary as they are the new band of Blake Schwarzenbach of Jawbreaker and Jets to Brazil fame. We got the last eight tickets they had. Score. I then spent the next few hours in a hellish Target and Walmart debacle searching for tubes or other floating devices to use for another tubing trip tomorrow. I finally found rafts and snow tubes at Walmart. I hate the South Philly Walmart. It might be the trashiest place on Earth but at least they had the goods I needed and mostly on clearance to boot. I then met Sue, Jake and Michael at the Memphis Taproom for drinks. I was totally bitchy and dumb but settled down after a glass of pinot noir and a few bites of heirloom tomato and mozzarella salad with a lovely pesto. Now I'm back in my sweats and I'm going to crawl into bed and watch the last disc of Tell Me You Love Me, which will be bittersweet since the show got cancelled.

Welcome to my little blog. I've been talking about doing this for weeks now, maybe even months. I've decided that I'm done with procrastination and I'm just going to start on a random rainy day like today.

My mission will be to wear a different dress every day for one hundred days straight. Each day I will take a picture of myself (so far this part is proving to be the most annoying and I'm hating every photo I take, body image, etc., good stuff!) Each day I'll tell you (the reader, see, that's you!) as much as I can remember about the dress I'm wearing, like where I bought it, how much it cost, the year or era of my life it was purchased, etc. I'll also tell you a bit about my day unless it's horribly boring, then I might skip that part. And yes, before anyone mentions it I do realize that someone already did this and I give her props for it. I googled the idea after thinking of it and found that maybe I'm not as original as once thought. Oh bother. Regardless, this is my mission and I believe I have a much different style and I'd like to do my own take on it. I mean come on, Hollywood is remaking everything right now why can't I?

Day: It's Saturday so even a bad Saturday isn't that bad. I woke up really late, 12:30 that is. It always makes me feel like a bad person to sleep that late but oh well. I lazed about, played with my cats, drank coffee, fed and took pictures of my backyard squirrel Maalox. At some random point in the day I decided to start this blog so I got dressed accordingly and my husband and I went to Honey's Sit n' Eat for a late lunch. We both indulged in Vegetarian Chicken Fried Steak with really unhealthy sides. So damn tasty. After lunch I cleaned up our backyard and got eaten by mosquitoes but I killed at least four of them in the process. Win. I then walked a dog for work purposes (I'm a dogwalker yo!) and went to the gym. Really exciting right? I also went to the grocery store and now I'm going to go pick up a pizza, walk a dog and come home and make strawberry-lime margaritas. Not too shabby I must say.
