day three hundred hundred forty-eight.

Day Three Hundred Forty-eight Thursday 8/12/10
Dress:  Black and Purple Houndstooth Dress
Purchased From: Rica's bag of clothing swap stuff
Year or Era Purchased: Summer 2010
Price: $FREE
Accessories:  Black knee highs, Hunter wellies, black belt, black lace headband
Hair and Makeup: Pulled back and with a black headband, usual makeup
Comments/Compliments/Complaints:

I am a tired little bunny so this is probably going to be a crap entry.  Sorry.  It was a boring day anyway.  I woke up early and took Michael to the El since it was overcast and the internets said it would rain.  I knew it would be cooler so I opted for this dress that I stole from the bag Rica sent to the clothing swap.  I added a belt, and of course wore my wellies since when it rains, it's wellie time!

I came home and somehow started cleaning the refrigerator.  Apparently a bottle of Soyaki spilled underneath the drawers. Also apparently I am disgusting and never clean my fridge.  It is now spankin' spotless and organized.

The gross stuff like processed cheese singles and bologna belongs to my roommate, Steve.  I really feel like I need to add that disclaimer.  The whole thing took me freaking forever, like almost two hours and I so of course I was running late.  I hurriedly got ready and spent the day working. I headed to school for a one on one conference with my professor, which went well I guess.  I came home and made bbq seitan and a mix of sauteed asparagus, mushrooms, artichokes and tomatoes.  It was yum.  Michael fell asleep on me while I watched bad tv.  See, boring. Sorry.

day three hundred hundred forty.

Day Three Hundred Forty Wednesday 8/4/10
Dress:  Purple V-neck Dress
Purchased From: Super Thrift
Year or Era Purchased: Summer 2010
Price: $4.95
Accessories:  Green flats
Hair and Makeup:  Pulled back into a bun, usual makeup
Comments/Compliments/Complaints: The Nanny at one of my jobs liked the green shoe/purple dress combo

I kept the button, the one that's unbuttoned in the photo above, buttoned for most of the day because I wasn't trying to be boobs all out but the button was stretched to capacity- it was thrifted and obvious that the previous owner had my same dilemma.  When I was on the canoe trip I heard ladies complaining about their lack of boobs.  I have to say that most of the time I like mine but it is beyond frustrating to find anything involving buttons that fits properly and doesn't gape between buttons, looking like a sloppy mess.  End rant.  This dress is much cuter when you first put it on but it wrinkles like crazy and rides up in the crotch when I walk.  No good.  I think it will go as quickly as it came.  I suppose maybe I should start walking in dresses when I try them on the way I do with shoes.

Wednesday was nice.  I worked and had the night off from school so Michael and I went out for a sushi date.  It was yummy in my tummy.  I can't remember anything else remarkable about the day so I'll leave it at that- popping boob buttons, crotches swallowing dresses and sushi- that ought to do it.

day three hundred hundred thirty-nine.

Day Three Hundred Thirty-nine Tuesday 8/3/10
Dress:  Purplish/Reddish/Mauveish Cotton Dress
Purchased From: Super Thrift
Year or Era Purchased: Summer 2010
Price: $3.95
Accessories:  Black flats
Hair and Makeup:  Pulled back into a bun, usual makeup with some purple eyeshadow
Comments/Compliments/Complaints: Hmmm,yeah I can't remember.

I completely forgot to write about how I got poison ivy on my ass while camping.  It must have happened when peeing at some point on poison ivy island.  I was so good about wearing boots and knee socks when walking around and I guess I just forgot to consider potty time. It's not like I rub my ass all over the ground when I pee though so the whole thing's a little perplexing.  I realized it when I took a bath on Sunday night.  No good.  Apparently I'm not allergic to it though so that's a good thing to realize I suppose.

So yeah, I also completely forgot to take more than one picture on Tuesday so I'm left with this one crappy photo that really doesn't show the color so much.  Oops. It's a dark purpley pink color.  It was comfy but I felt like my boobs were on a shelf for display all day.  I used the feeling to write a story in class about a guy leering at a girl's boobs.  I think it worked nicely.  I spent the day working and then went to school, came home and made spaghetti, vodka sauce and broccoli rabe for dinner and watched some Master Chef and Hell's Kitchen. Aaaah Gordon Ramsay, how do I love thee, let me count your shows.

day three hundred hundred thirty-three.

Day Three Hundred Thirty-three Wednesday 7/28/10
Dress:  Heart Pattern Night Gown Dress
Purchased From:  Conway
Year or Era Purchased: Summer 2010
Price: $2.99
Accessories:  black flats, purple knee socks,
Hair and Makeup:  Down, usual makeup
Comments/Compliments/Complaints: Sue liked the socks and dress, I was called 99 again by the desk guy at a building I work in, Michael liked the dress

Here's another case of a nightgown turned dress.  I don't care. It was crazy humid again so I needed to wear something flowy and with little fabric.  I totally thought I wore this dress in a different color version but now I can't seem to find the post so maybe not.  I decided this dress needed some knee socks and these purple ones were handy and matched perfectly.  Thanks to my friend Jody, as she bought them for me.

Wednesday was a getting shit done kind of day.  I woke up late because Michael let me sleep and walked to the el since his bike is in the shop getting a tuneup.  I got dressed, went to work and then came home and grabbed my roommate, Steve, so we could go to Target for camping supplies.  The Bridesburg Target has the worst camping section I've ever seen.  Blargh.  Going to Target with Steve is hilarious, he just sort of wanders around and stares at things.  We got lots of supplies and I got a cute new hat that happened to be on clearance. Score.  I came home and went to have a visit with Sue and Lemon so I could drop off a bag of dresses for her and grab her cooler and campfire toaster for our canoe trip.  Lemon and I had some bonding time while she'll drooled on me a bit, her new thing.  She's also currently obsessed with trees- kind of awesome.

I came home from Sue's and washed a load of towels, made dinner (more mac and cheese- it's finally gone- and more salads), watched Louie, ran the dishwasher, baked brownies, baked potatoes for the trip, packed and worked on a revision of Monday's piece for class.  I was exhausted and finally settled into bed around 2:30am.

day two hundred fifty-seven.

Day Two Hundred Fifty-seven Wednesday 5/12/10
Dress:  Purplish brown Lace Dress
Purchased From:  Somewhere in a mall, probably the King of Prussia Mall
Year or Era Purchased: 1997-1998 sometime
Price: $30ish (I really have no clue on this)

Accessories: Cool button ring from Marilla1918, brown patterned tights, green hunter wellies
Hair and Makeup: Down and curled a bit, usual makeup with a little extra eye makeup
Comments/Compliments/Complaints: I believe one of Michael's quotes was "You look like you're going to whore island" but he said it in a nice way, really.  A few dress compliments and Jen said "holy boobs"

Wednesday was jam packed, which is why it took so long to update for Wednesday, Thursday and Friday as I'm doing now.  I think I'm still recovering.   Since I knew we had plans late in the evening to attend goth night at Shampoo I chose one of my dresses from back in the day when I used to do that almost weekly.  I bought this dress at some mall store I think.  I would bet anything I was shopping with Heather when I bought it.  I wish I could remember how much it was and from which store it was purchased but I don't. I have an actual photograph from an actual point and shoot camera that I actually took to a store to have printed of me wearing this dress so you know it's old.  And I suppose that makes me old too. Hrmpf.  Buuut it does still fit and I do still love it so old schmold.   The weather once again called for rain so I wore my galoshes and I think that helped even out this look a little and added a nice contrast.  I did my hair a little fancy, which fell pretty much immediately but once brushed out later in the day it was fine.  Stupid humidity. I also paired it with my new fun ring.  This time I got a picture of it.

So I spent my day working and then headed to King of Prussia to meet up with one of my oldest friends, Jen.  We met at the Cheesecake Factory to have dinner and catch up.  We've been friends for something like 28 or 29 years.  Again with old.  Ugh.  Anyway we enjoyed dinner and then really enjoyed a split dessert.  We tried to walk off some of the calories through shopping/mall walking but I don't know that we even put a dent in our calorie intake.  I was very good and only bought a new compact at MAC and some new eye shadow primer since I one hundred percent realized I'm allergic to the Urban Decay Primer.  I was shown three non-silicone based primers at Sephora and went with the Kat Von D brand since it was cheapest and the sales guy told me it worked just as good.  So far so good, it's holding the eye makeup up remarkably well and I"m not breaking out into eczema bumps.  Rad.

Jen and I parted ways and I headed home to meet up with Michael and head to Shampoo to celebrate his cousin Michelle's 30th birthday, and celebrate we did.  I drank and danced my face off and kept repeating "I'm having the most fun."  We left at 2 when Michael pretty much had to drag me out of there.  Parts of the night are a little hazy.  Oops.  There's just something in the air there.

day one hundred eighty-five.

Day One Hundred Eighty-five 3/1/10

Dress: Purple Overall Dress

Purchased From: Thrift Fair

Year or Era Purchased: Winter 2010

Price: $3.95

Accessories: Brown tights, purple ruffle socks, hunter wellies, black t-shirt, bow barrette

Hair and Makeup: clean, blown dry and curled a little, usual makeup

Comments/Compliments/Complaints: Michael complimented my hair
Day:

Ugh, total case of the Mondays.  Today pretty much sucked.  I did manage to drag myself to the gym, a good thing since I was very bad at the eating/dieting thing yesterday and scarfed down enchiladas.  I'm sort of back track if you don't count the five girl scout cookies I ate tonight.

I'm super boring right now and have been busy wasting my life away with the couch/tv combo and obsessively looking at decorating websites, currently addicted to apartmenttherapy.com  I fear I will hate all of my stuff when we move to our third floor, master bedroom, like when I have a fat day and all of my clothes are ugly or too worn.  Our drywall is up and almost done, just needs sanded.  Next up is tiling, bathroom parts purchasing/installation, painting, floors, etc.  We are so close though! I'm super excited.

Today's dress reflected the day, I just didn't care much and knew this oversized weird purple sack would provide me with the comfort I was seeking in a Monday after working the weekend. I'm not sure if I'll keep this one,  I like the grey version from day one hundred seventy-eight much better.  I bought both of these dresses from the same thrift store at different times but I have to assume they had the same owner.  I can't imagine buying these dresses full price with a burning desire for multiple colors but then again I did buy them both.  There's just something about pockets and an overall style that I can't resist.

day one hundred thirty.

Me and Eno at Mike and Jody's

Day One Hundred Thirty 1/5/2010
Dress: Purple Old Lady Nightgown Dress

Year or Era Purchased:  Winter 2009
Price: $2.95
Accessories: jeans, black snow boots, blue cardigan,
Hair and Makeup:  still dirty but braided, usual makeup
Comments/Compliments/Complaints:  Sherry and Jody commented on my dress

I am exhausted and feel pretty gross in my belly because of this:

Today's dress was purchased on Sunday in the pajama/lingerie section of the Port Richmond Super Thrift.  Never underestimate this section of your local thrift store.  It was cold as crap today so I wore it with jeans and a cardigan.  Turns out, not warm enough.  Probably also because I tried to pair it with a winter coat I snagged at the swap meet.  Guess what?! Yeah, it's not super warm and the sleeves are too short.  Guess who didn't have arm warmers or long gloves today? Yep, me.  And my socks kept doing that thing where they got swallowed up by boots whenever I walked so they were all bunched under my feet.  And then to top it all off I slammed my hand in a client's door.  So dumb.  I hated a lot of today.  I am not ready for this cold and working outside all day.  No good.

It was better when I got home after a stop at the store to see about winter coats- nope, just bathing suits.  Oh great, just what I need.  Fuckers.  Seriously.  It just got super duper cold. Stop the insanity! Why can't I buy a scarf or winter coat in January? Why can I buy shorts or a bathing suit?  Do not want!

After work Michael and I went to my brother's house to give Christmas gifts finally and then headed to Spano and Jody's for some deep fried cheese curds since Jody recently returned from Wisconsin.  That's the fatty goodness pictured above. I'm going to take my cheese curd baby to bed now before I throw it all up on my keyboard. Goodnight.

Day:

oh my god drunk! Today was so awesome and I loved it.  It snowed an insane amount and I cooked a lot and had a fun filled snowy day.

I woke up and made spicy hot chocolate since the ground was covered in snow.  It was tasty but not even close to the ancho chili hot chocolate from Red Hook.   I then made coffee and did massive amounts of dishes.  I was gearing up for an all day kitchen fiasco or fiesta.   I needed to complete the tofu turkey and stuffing for the holiday potluck and at the last minute I decided to make vegan mashed potatoes.  I wore squirrel slippers and cooked my heart out while the snow flurried down.  We drove to cvs to purchase a white elephant gift and went to an awesome holiday potluck at Kristin's.  We played charades and I did well.  I found out that I'm kind of good at charades and I love it.  I had to act out "glass pickle" but failed on that and then had to act out an x-rated movie and succeeded.  Word.  We also had a white elephant or dirty santa and I scored a bottle of wine and an amazing neck warmer/kerchief by Kristin.  I love the color, it's like mustard lime green.

We drove our friends home from the potluck and met up with a bunch of other friends for Steve Stroud's birthday fun.  That is where I may have consumed too much Jameson.  Bed now.

day one hundred and four.

Day One Hundred and Four 12/10/2009
Dress: Purple 70s Disco Dress

Purchased From:  Unknown Thrift Store
Year or Era Purchased:  2005 or 2006
Price: $3-5
Accessories: grey tights, grey knee socks, crazy pattern boots, black cardigan
Hair and Makeup:  Hair down, usual makeup

Comments/Compliments/Complaints:  Rachel said the dress was fabulous, she liked the color and it reminded her of her Mom's wedding dress.   Maybe some other people too, I can't remember.

Day:

Today's dress is one of those dresses I've owned forever and bought as a novelty.  Again with the purple, damn you purple, you win.  I like you. Fine.  I think I actually like this crazy dress too.  It's a little crazy shimmery and sure did not match the cold ass weather of today but it brightened my mood whenever it popped out of the bottom of my coat.

I am exhausted.  Today started and never stopped.  I worked, took the car to Just Tires for new tires, Christmas shopped, worked more, came home and cleaned a little, did the trash and recycling, made dinner for Michael and then went to my very first clothing swap where I scored sooooo many awesome pieces of clothing including like five dresses. Word.  I should write more with lots of detail because it was fun but man alive I think my bed is calling my name in the loudest possible manner.  Goodnight!

Day:

Today was so long and I spent most of it out of the house so I am exhausted now but haven't done anything of importance or production.  I woke up and got ready and got the dogs ready to take home.  Sue and I made plans to go to brunch at Mi Lah and we were so excited about it. I took the dogs home and went to a cat job.  Somehow between waking up and working I managed to waste something like 3 hours.  Sometimes time just gets so far away from me,  During my excursion and getting ready period Michael called a tow truck and waited hours for it to show and take his motorcycle to the shop.  Two and a half hours later it did not so he had our friend Jake take it with his pickup truck.   All of these events lead us to arrive at brunch super late, 2:40 to be exact.  Ugh.

After all of the anticipation Mi Lah was such a huge disappointment.  So sad.  Our server was so atrocious in his waiting skills that I actually scolded him.  We all ordered our food.  Sue and I both got side orders of "french toasts" and Jake and I both got the Avocado and Sausage Biscuits with a Bronzed Coconut King Mushroom and Sweet Potato Fries.  I liked it a lot but it still needed something.  Michael and Sue ordered the Pan Seared Seitan, Zucchini Patties with Sauce, home fries and toast and Chad got the Mediterranean Mushroom Dish.  All was good and we got our "toasts" (We both ordered them as they were written and giggled, I think that's nerdy) and the portion was insane.  Our entrees were delivered, all except for Sue's that is.  A few minutes later our waiter comes back and tells Sue that he was waiting to hear if the kitchen had enough seitan patties left to make two portions and they didn't but they were making new ones then. He asked her if she wanted to wait for it or order something else.  We were so perplexed by this question and turn of events.   We all had our food and he waited to ask her until the eating had commenced.  What the hell?  Luckily she had her French Toast but would he have left her there foodless? She declined the wait or to order differently since it was pretty much too late.  I couldn't hold back and told him he should inform people of these issues immediately and give them the chance to order something else.  I think it's common sense.  Ugh.  Then he had the balls to not really return to our table and send another server to finish our service.  She brough the check and we split it up part cash, part card.  We asked them to put $16 on the card and Sue planned to write in $4 for her share of tax and tip.  We had $50 cash.  I guess he assumed we planned to tip him shitty or not at all, not the case, and put $10.48 on the card and informed her she'd have to put the $5.52 tip on herself .  This makes no sense.  He was told to put $16 on the card, ignored the request and effed himself out of a partial cash tip.  Sue had planned to just change her request and put $20 on the card but the girl seemed so confused by this whole transaction and she didn't want to confuse her anymore.  Regardless this kid ended up with 16 or 17% tip for being an asshole on several occasions.  I hope he felt like a dick.  He was one.  Ugh. I liked my food quite a bit, I'll say that.  I feel like I want to write the waiter and letter and explain my frustration.  Dumb. I'm so not over it.

After our brunch debacle we headed to the Philadelphia Brewing Company holiday open house for free beers.  I had a couple of Joes, coffee porter, yum.  Afterwards I wanted a soft pretzel so bad that I made Steve go with me to get some.  We had dropped Chad and Michael at the skatepark first.  We got to the pretzel store with one minute to spare.  It was spectacular.  We now have a ton of soft pretzels in our freezer.  I am super happy about this.

I went with Steve to our corner and got introduced to Words With Friends by Lindsay.  I am now addicted. It is a scrabble game for free and you can play with your other iphone friends.  I"m rabbit rabbit, find me and play scrabble with me.  I love words.   Chad broke his board and let some little kids focus it so I had to go pick them up at Perry's Place "Food & Soup" on Huntingdon Ave.  It was a surreal bar and I had just left another surreal neighborhood bar. It felt like Steve Buscemi should enter my life at any moment today.

I took the boys home and they scarfed soft pretzels and filmed something while I recreated a Thanksgiving feast from leftovers and a few new items.  We dined on biscuits, brussels sprouts, Quorn turkey, stuffing, cole slaw, chanterelle gravy,  and cheddar cheese mashed potatoes.  While eating we got texts from Steve and Lindsay that the Happy Tap was having karaoke and they were going to do crash test dummies.  I'm not even bothering to capitalize that. Unfortunately we missed it.  We finished eating and were joined by Spano and Jody before heading over.   We stayed for a few drinks and Jody's rendition of Cheap Trick "I Want You To Want Me".  We came home and watched some Man Stroke Woman, a sketch comedy show from BBC.  I love it.

Today's dress is so far removed from my usual dresses.  Purple might be my least favorite color but as I said before it is growing oh me quite a bit.  I love the shape of this dress so I forgave the color but to be honest I sort of love it.  Oh well.  I suppose tastes change or stuff just becomes stagnant and boring.  I'm off to bed now.  Night.
