Day:

I only wore this dress for maybe an hour and I didn't leave the house today.  It was really fabulous.  I didn't get out of bed until after 11 and then spent my day making a yummy quiche of asparagus, swiss cheese, onions, veggie sausage, green pepper and mushrooms so good! I spent the rest of the day lounging about on a pillow bed made of couch cushions and watching at least seven episodes of Lost season 5 and I'm continuing to do so as we speak. I needed a day like this.  It's a shame I was putting off this dress since it's not very flattering but I like it with the belt.  Oh well.  At least now I know I want to keep it.   I think I've had this dress for many years and I've worn it maybe two or three times.  Time to get back to Lost.  I love watching it all in a row.  Ahhhhh.

day one hundred and two.

Day One Hundred and Two 12/8/2009
Dress: Red Terry Cloth Sundress

Purchased From:  Super Thrift
Year or Era Purchased:  Fall 2009
Price: $1.95
Accessories: Black tights, cream knee socks, boots for some of the day, mary janes for the other, red and white polka dot headband, blue anchor fingerless gloves (thanks mike and jody!) red earmuffs, red and white striped long sleeve shirt, ugly holiday sweater later in the day.
Hair and Makeup:  Huge all up beehive/twist, usual makeup

Comments/Compliments/Complaints:  Lots on my hair, a few on my ugly sweater and Michael said the outfit was cute without the sweater.

Day:

I am so tired and I have to go wash this beehive mess out of my hair so this is going to be short and sweet.  I bought today's dress yesterday when I went thrift shopping for an ugly holiday sweater to wear to a Yelp event tonight.  I went with a whole holiday Santa's helper theme and since my hair was still up when I woke up this morning I rocked it all day long.  People definitely stared.  Here are some pictures of my day since I am too tired for more words, tomorrow should be better.

day forty-eight

Day Forty-eight 10/15/2009

Dress: Blue Terry Cloth Vintage Dress

Purchased From: Oh shucks, I can't remember, some thrift store I'm sure.

Year or Era Purchased: Within the last few years or so

Price: $? I would guess under $5

Accessories: Phillies winter hat, skinny jeans, black boots

Hair and Makeup: down and wavy with a hat, usual makeup and a touch of smokey blue eyeshadow

Comments/Compliments/Complaints: I got a compliment on my hat from a door guy at a building I go to  to walk dogs.

Day: It is so gross today, gross and rainy and horrible and so cold it makes me want to curl up under my covers and never come out but instead I worked outside in the rain for a large part of it. Boo. I am not ready for this weather in the slightest.  Again Michael and I could not sleep in and woke up before our alarm clock, at 6:45AM.  Who am I?  I tried to go back to sleep and actually got out of bed around 7:30 or so to take Michael to the El so he wouldn't have to walk in the rain.  I knew it would be total crap outside all day so I came home and searched soup recipes and found one on the Post Punk Kitchen site that I tweaked a bit, Zesty Mexican Soup by adding veggie chicken, using half water and half vegetable broth and subbing the cilantro for parsley because I hate fresh cilantro and because my garden is still producing parsley like woah.  I spent my morning getting clean and drinking coffee and figuring out what Phillies inspired outfit to wear.  It was so cold that I totally wore jeans today and paired them with this weird terry cloth blue dress that I just cant remember anything about.  I am a sucker for terry cloth dresses even though they never look good on my body shape,  they're like that type of satin that shows every body dimple, every flaw but I just can't stop buying them. I don't know what is wrong with me, maybe it goes back to how when I was little I would try to figure out how to make a towel wrapped around me look like a dress and pretend I was a fashion designer, so sad. Anyway so  it's not the most flattering dress in the world for ladies with my body type and the collar buttons are annoying and move all about even with a safety pin attached but since I spent most of my day covered with a hoodie and a long coat it really didn't matter and today's outfit ended up being way more about the hat, also from a thrift store for $1.

During my workday I stopped at Whole Foods to stock up on my veggie items and yes I am not proud to admit it but I was so craving the Tofurky hickory smoked slices that I opened them in the car and made them my mid-day snack.  I definitely missed them most in the last two weeks.  I came home and immediately started working on the soup and it occurred to me after all of the ingredients were in the pot that I had not checked the serving suggestion for the soup and as usual had made entirely too much food.  I now have two leftover containers of soup even after feeding three people dinner, so please note that the serving suggestion on PPK might be a little off unless you are serving super hungry people.

We ate dinner and watched the first game in the Phillies vs. Dodgers series and I am ashamed to admit we both totally fell asleep for pretty much the fifth to the eighth inning and also slept through It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, d'oh.  We woke up in time to see the big win, which I'd like to think was due to my hat wearing today but I'm not completely retarded so I won't think that.  I am so exhausted now from pretty much nothing so I'm going to crawl under my covers and convince myself that I am doing the right thing and sticking it to the PGW man by not turning on the heat.

day thirty-one.

Day Thirty-one 9/28/2009
Dress: Red Terry Cloth Dress
Purchased From: Thrift Store Unknown
Year or Era Purchased: 1994ish?
Price: $5ish?
Accessories: Black Coat, black boots and then new black boots and ridiculous sunglasses.
Hair and Makeup:  Double buns, zero makeup
Comments/Compliments/Complaints: I forgot to credit my Mommy-in-law with a coat compliment yesterday, none today.
Day:  Today's dress was one of the first one I looked at.  I love it and hate it at the same time.  If I was like 30lbs. skinnier this might be my favorite dress.  Luckily there was a slight chill in the air today so that meant I got to wear my favorite jacket, which classes up any outfit.  To be fair I did a picture with and without the jacket.  This dress is so not forgiving, even with the high waisted fake spanx I try to make out of my tights.  Oh well, I like my boobs in it so I guess it evens out a little bit.   While putting on my favorite boots today I realized they had a hole in them :( So I ran to Bare Feet Shoes in hopes of finding a similar replacement.  No dice, but I did find these sweet motorcycle/sweater boots? Huh? Super comfy and you can change them up to make them shorter or longer.  I absolutely can not function without a pair of black boots in my wardrobe.  Bare Feet Shoes is another of my favorite shoe stores as a large selection of their shoes are not leather. Score.  They are also very reasonably priced I must say!

My day was endless with errands galore and I knew it would be because I am a last minute kind of lady.  I accomplished the following: picking up prescriptions for my cat, buying cat food and cat litter, picking up my prescription, packing, going to the bank, working, buying new boots,  grocery store stop (yes, to get peanuts for the squirrels), stopping by my brother and sister-in-laws house and then finally home.  Whew.  I am exhausted.  I also made dinner, cleaned the kitchen, painted my nails OPI's Alpine Snow (so good!) and got all the cat and house instructions ready.  I know that was boring and lacked pizazz but hey it is 3am and I still have to work tomorrow and pack the last minute items and do the last minute things that I forgot.

Now it's time to load my iPhone with music and get my butt to sleep.  Sorry for the really short and awful post! I have figured out the logistics of blogging while I'm gone and it's so much easier than I expected! As long as I have access to free wi-fi I will blog everyday.  I have 16 dresses packed and only need 13, better safe than icky.

Holy crap! I will be in France in like twenty-four hours!
